Bajaj Pulsar 375: Daytime Running Lights on the cards?

Pulsar 375It’s been ages since the Pulsar 375 and Pulsar 200SS have been testing around India. Generally, automobile manufacturers try to get the excitement going by giving sneak-peaks into what they have in store. But they can’t really expect this excitement to last forever! I don’t know about you, but I am quite tired of reading about another sighting of the Bajaj Pulsar 375 or Pulsar 200SS, but with no launch in sight.

The good folks at MotorBeam seem to have caught up with another Pulsar 375 test mule. Although they didn’t capture any images, they did notice something about the bike that is good news for sure: Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

The Pulsar 375 is a full faired bike which will come with dual projector headlights. I love projectors, so 2 of them should be even better! They will also make those long night rides so much more safer. The DRLs are expected to surround the projectors, like eyebrows. Should look pretty menacing if done right.

Pulsar 375The Pulsar 375 is also expected to come with ABS as standard, which is another piece of great news for our Indian roads plagued by dogs, cows and jaywalkers. It will utilize the same engine as my Duke 390, but it will not have all that tech to help it make 44 horses. Instead, it is expected to settle for something around 40hp and 32Nm of torque, which is more than enough. It will be fuel injected for sure, which should help with fuel economy.

The bike is super front heavy, so that should add a lot of character and oomph to it. I really hope Bajaj will launch the Pulsar 375 at the Auto Expo, anything later than that will be too late. With bikes like Hero HX250R and KTM RC390 coming soon, I don’t think Bajaj can afford to be late to the party. If they manage to price it around 1.7lacs, they would have a phenomenal winner on their hands. Let’s pray it happens soon!

Bajaj has been teasing the Pulsar 375 and 200SS too long………..they better bring it on soon before the lights shift away them towards the Hero HX250R, which seems to be the hot topic amongst enthusiasts. Bajaj should come up with a Pulsar 250SS instead of a 200.

Yeah it’s been too long actually, I for one am tired of waiting. The HX250R is just splendid, hope it comes into production soon!
Yes that also looks like a better idea, Indian biking market is maturing towards higher capacity mills, so a 250cc motor makes much more sense than just 200 or even 220.
